About Pacific Ocean Shipping & Solutions
Pacific Ocean Shipping & Solutions is a maritime shipping, freight forwarding, and supply chain management company based in Lochristi, Belgium. We work with importers and exporters moving cargo through Belgian ports and into the European hinterland.
Who we are
We're a Belgian logistics company focused on ocean freight, forwarding, customs coordination, and inland distribution. Our work sits between the carrier and the customer, managing the parts of a shipment that are easy to get wrong.
We're based in Lochristi, within reach of the main Belgian ports. That location keeps us close to the flows we manage: container and chemical cargo through Antwerp-Bruges, ro-ro and vehicle traffic through Zeebrugge, and the inland terminals behind them.

We start with the cargo, not a service list.
Before quoting, we ask what you're shipping, where it has to go, and by when. Then we suggest a route and a mode — and we tell you plainly if your cargo isn't a good fit for us.
Management
The business is managed by De Wilde Lindsay and De Groote Ellen. Between them they oversee the commercial relationships and the operational planning behind each shipment.
De Wilde Lindsay
Management
Commercial relationships and the terms clients book on. When a rate, a schedule or a commitment needs a decision, it lands here.
De Groote Ellen
Management
Operational planning across bookings, carriers and documentation. Escalations on a live shipment come to her desk rather than sitting in a queue.
Decisions on routing, carrier selection, and documentation sit with management, which means clients deal with people who can commit to a plan. If something needs escalating, it escalates to them.
How we work
We don't pad quotes with services you don't need, and we don't promise timelines we can't hold. If a plan has a weak point, we say where it is.
-
Step one
Tell us the cargo
Commodity, volume, weight, whether it's containerised, breakbulk or ro-ro, and any handling limits. The cargo decides the route far more than the route decides the cargo.
-
Step two
Origin, destination, deadline
Where it leaves from, where it has to arrive, and when. If the deadline is tight, that changes the mode, the port and the carrier shortlist from the first conversation.
-
Step three
Route and mode proposal
We come back with a route, a mode and a plain account of the trade-offs: transit time against cost, direct sailing against a transhipment, port choice against inland haulage.
-
Step four
Documents before loading
We prepare and check the paperwork ahead of the load date, and we tell you what your consignment will face at the border before it gets there rather than after.
Where we operate
Our focus is Belgian ports and the hinterland links that follow them. That includes Antwerp-Bruges for container and chemical flows, Zeebrugge for ro-ro and vehicle traffic, and the inland terminals reachable by barge and rail.
We also handle the road leg for first-mile and last-mile movement. Operating in one country well beats claiming coverage everywhere.
Hinterland Distribution & WarehousingOur approach to compliance
Customs and regulatory work isn't a side task for us. Belgium applies port state control under the Paris Memorandum of Understanding, and maritime transport is a federal matter. That framework shapes how cargo moves, and we plan around it.
We prepare documentation before the cargo loads and flag the checks your consignment will face. Getting this right is what keeps shipments moving.
What we prepare before loading
- Commercial invoice, packing list and transport document, checked against the cargo you described.
- Certificates and permits the commodity requires, requested early enough to arrive before the load date.
- Customs declarations and duty or VAT treatment, so the entry is filed rather than improvised.
- A heads-up on the inspections and controls your consignment is likely to face on arrival.
Requirements vary by commodity, origin and port. Tell us what you're shipping and we'll confirm what applies to your consignment.
Customs & ComplianceWorking with clients over time
One-off shipments are welcome, but the setup pays off most for clients who ship regularly. Recurring flows let us refine the routing, build in alternatives, and reduce the time each booking takes.
We review plans as volumes and destinations change rather than leaving them fixed. That's the practical version of long-term value: fewer surprises, less rework, and a plan that still fits in month six.
If your volumes are seasonal or your destinations shift during the year, say so early. It changes which carrier contracts and which inland routes are worth holding open for you.
Getting in touch
If you have a shipment to plan, send the cargo details, origin, destination, and deadline. We'll reply with a route and a mode, and tell you what documents you'll need. There's no obligation to book after an enquiry.
